Synopsis:
Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day
before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them
to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the
creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst
the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they
continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes
unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality
for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a
love story if it ends in heartbreak?
My review:
I read this book without knowing anything
other than the blurb and without any expectation and I was so blown away. The
stories follows Fallon, a girl who lose her confidence the night when her
father’s house burnt with her in it and Ben, a boy who is trying to be a
writer.
The story takes place over several years on
the meeting of Fallon and Ben at November 9th, Before they knew each
other, November 9th was already their special day, and after that
meeting, it became more special. At their first November 9th, when
Ben became Fallon’s fake boyfriend, they agreed to meet once a year at November
9th, without any kind of relationship and contact because Fallon
would move to another country to pursue her passion and she didn’t want to be
distracted. Along with Ben and Fallon, I couldn’t wait to meet another November
9th to know how their stories went after a year without each other,
and that’s how CoHo broke my heart over and over again. This book brought so
much emotion for me, I laugh and cry with them. Colleen Hoover writes
beautifully as always, and somehow she always find a way to crush my heart,
like when it began to become good, she always unexpectedly crush my heart. The
twist! O.M.G.
Tbh, it’s kinda always like this with CoHo, a
complicated character, and there was always someone with a secret, but I love
the characters, the main and the supporting are so good, they’ve done their job
so well, they complete each other. Great friends? Check. Complicated family
background? Check. Loving mother? Check.
My Favorite Quotes:

“When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go. You can’t just walk away from it and expect it to linger until you’re ready for it”
“Loving someone doesn’t just include that person, Ben. Loving someone means accepting all the things and people that person loves, too.”
“Because when you love someone, you owe it to them to help them be the best version of themselves that they can be.”
“We’re only given one mind and body at birth, and they’re the only ones we get, so it’s up to us to take care of ourselves.”
Many bookstagrammers have been talking about this book and I'm kinda curious. Plus, it's Co-Ho, though. :D
